Finally I can see the light at the end of the tunnel with this programme. I have learnt a lot and did enjoy it as well. I do have some concerns though.
I think that I needed more time to practice these web 2.0 tools. I do not think that I have a real grip on it as yet for I am still not confident with all of them. The Wiki is still not very clear to me but with time it will be perfected. I did have problems with the blog but after figuring it out for myself it is common place now that I was not happy with the notion that the blogs must be spread out over a period of time. I want to blog and blog and blog, so I know with the wiki I would get there.
This technology is exciting and I cant wait to really show my students and even some of the teachers at the school of the new literacies we must use to enhance learning .
I agree with you totally Ingrid and the wiki is only tool so far I don't have a grip on as yet. As you mentioned the answer to this problem is practice, practice and more practice. These are exciting times for Reading Specialists and I do hope that these tools will be implemented in the classrooms and not left to wither and die. I know for you that would not be the case.Let us impart this knowledge to our charges and make learning fun.
ReplyDeleteHi Ingrid,
ReplyDeleteI too struggled at the beginning of this course with all these new tech tools. This certainly was not what I expected but I am certainly not disappointed. In fact, far from this I am both elated and overwhelmed at the same time. Like you Wikis are still posing a problem but I have even tried the podcasts and listen to some on a regular basis. I've tried the Digital storybooks and the E-book, I tell you when I'm finished with this course I may even be considered technosavvy. Let's continue encouraging one another.
