I am here wondering how to get the information to complete the assignment for the 30th when there is just a handful of books on the topic in the library and these books are being passed within circles of friends and some students do not even have a chance to see not even the cover. This cannot be humane . I mean everybody wants to hand in an assignment that is worthy of good reading and marks as well.
Students we cannot be so selfish and intend to succeed then we wonder why we succeed here and our generations don't well it is the seeds that we sow. So to those who have the ICT books use and return so others can have an opportunity to catch a glimpse of even the cover.
To the lecturers, the library web site is not opening to access any literature so I really do not know how to access the material worthy of you all reading.
I know this may not be the place to write this but I sent messages to the lecturers and did not receive a response. So I blogged. Sorry if I offend anyone.
Ingrid the inconsiderate nature of others in the field of education is sadly not a new thing. I remember even while I was doing my DipEd that books would go missing and I even inadvertently discovered books which were placed in the wrong sections of the library. From this experience I joined a website known as Questia.com. Here you can get suitable and wide range of reading materials for academic purposes. There is a cost attached though but this can be shared between you and a colleague.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have better success in the future.
Ingrid,I am really sorry that you had this unfortunate experience with getting books from the library. My exprience was quite the opposite. Thanks to one of our colleagues, I was able to get five texts that were helpful. She had pulled the books off the shelf in her quest to find resources. As she was about to leave, she suggested that I should go through the pile and see if any would help before they get put back on the shelf.I was grateful for the kind gesture and did likewise when I was about to leave the room. My point is that there are some good people out there so do keep the faith, we still have a long way to go. I found that the texts from previous reading courses were helpful and as Trumanne suggested, the online resources are numerous. As to the selfishness of others, that is something we have to work on as professionals. The only way I know how to address this is to model the preferred behaviour so please feel free to ask for assistance if you find you are getting frustrated.(Usha)your colleague in education.
