School Violence

I was reading one of the daily newspapers recently and came upon a comment made by our goodly Minister of Education with his plans on implementing the presence of soldiers in the schools to help with violence. What about violence among teachers would he be sending soldiers or would he split himself into several pieces to grace us with his presence?
I have been saying this ever since at our staff meetings but administrators have never taken heed even though we had several violent acts being done at our school among other felonies. Now the ministry sees it fit to implement the same idea.
I even brought to them that they should have time tabled religious education at the school nobody took me on.
Well i guess with the introduction of the laptops students would find time not to fight but blog, and wiki in their spare time as well.

  1. Hi Ingrid,
My sentiments exactly.Children break the school rules all the time with little or no penalties. We all live in society with rules also and when we break the rules there are penalties. They to be aware of this .Bring the law and the military into the school system. Some students need this. They have no law or anything to conform to.We need order and if this gets the job done .Well do it Plain and simple..

  2. There is a religious instruction program in the secondary schools commonly called RI.What happens is that some of the students, unfortunately the delinquent ones hide and skip these classes.Forcing them to go simply creates a greater aversion. What needs to happen is to use the same RI teachings but in a more flexible manner. That is let them play football or cricket in the RI period and find a way to bring in an RI lesson in the game.
